6 May 2018 by Rachael Dawson

SKI SECTION.

The ski section has a number of activities to keep you active. Sessions are aimed at improving your skills and helping you set your aims for next season.

SATURDAY
Saturday at Swallow Rock. Drills and warm up from 1pm, timed Races commence at 2pm. Swallow Rock is aimed to improve paddling distance and fitness. The ski captains would love to see more competitors getting involved. In many ways it’s to keep active and participate in an alternative sport which may help build your overall endurance and fitness. Each week is a timed event so you can assess your skills and fitness off youself, improving your own time each week. Swallow Rock is for all levels. 1km /2km /5km/10km. If you plan to attend please contact the ski Captains, see contacts below.

SUNDAY
Sunday at 7.30am at Bayshed. Sundays are for orientation and development level member’s. Youth and young at heart who want to improve or learn more about this craft are encouraged to attend. Mike Roye has been heading up this session for many years, he is one if our most experienced paddlers! You will learn a lot!

PLANNING AHEAD
We plan to paddle throughout the off season with more activities to roll out. We are planning Wednesday afternoons from 4pm leaving from Bayshed, this season will be working on distance and strength so you must be capable and competent. Come along and get pushed, enjoy the group session and improve yourself!

The ski section will also be working to improve the condition of existing club craft. To this end if you still have a loan or a located ski please return it to ski captains ASAP. We will be working with the coaches to ensure all levels have a focused and organized programs. We are also working with club management to improve craft storage and access while the clubhouse goes through this time of improvement.
